Playing For The Manager!

... will they deliberately not perform for him in the hope he gets the bullet???

There was a bit of talk along these lines about TINS. Some people thought the players turned against him because he tried to stamp down on their "social" activities, and he did seem to bomb out some of the worst offenders.

Now we know GARY JOHNSON has a reputation as a bit of a disciplinarian and he definately wants players to be a lot fitter than our current squad are, therefore it is obvious there will be a harder training regime, including extra training sessions after defeats, instead of days off, so are players that had it easy prepared to play for a manager like that.

It is not just a case of performance in matches. Is it a coincidence that we have a long injury list amongst our more seasoned pros at the moment?? It has often been said by old pros that players that didn't fancy a game could make a slight injury out to be worse than it is.

The worrying thing is that players must realise that G.J. is unlikely to be sacked in the near future, so is there some that would be prepared to sit out nice lucrative contracts chugging along at 50%, in the knowledge that no one else at this level would pay them the ridiculous amounts that we are currently.

I am sure there have been quite a number that have done this in recent years, but with the desperate state of the clubs finances and awful league position, will the club be able to carry this type any longer???

And a lot of players not performing now, after a very promising start with the new manager. The hartlepool result was not good but the performance was, then it has been downhill despite a good result against a struggling tranmere!!

Plus it not so much assumptions as posing questions to gauge peoples thoughts!!
