Looks a good signing, played 15 times for West Ham in the championship so can't be bad! I Guess this will be the last of Cole Skuse in the 1st team for a while then?

Why do we need to sign well known players, thats the bloody problem we sign higher league players that don't give a monkeys about the club just the wage packet!

Players from lower down want to prove them selves and from a coaching side of things johnson can improve them.

Just look at what we have murray, bridges, stewart the list is endless the days of names like these are long gone while johnson is in charge.

Johnson looks at players he can improve and want to improve!just look at jevons hes found his feet in 1st and 2nd division, look at the players at yeovil any real big names there i don't think so!!!!

Noble is quality.

Good Start

Sort of reminds me of Joe Cole with his tricks. But he can also tackle!!!

EXCE-BLOODY-LENT

I'd say we are lucky to be able to bring him in on loan at least.

YAY

The Gary Johnson love affair is finally rekindled :city:

i think most of you are mistaking David Noble for Mark Noble as i follow West Ham i can tell you that David Noble was at West Ham at academy level but Mark Noble now is breaking into the first team, he started on Saturday. David Noble played four times for West Ham before being loaned to Plymouth in 2004.

Yea i know the difference, no offense.

Plus Mark Noble is only about 18/19............David Noble is about 21/22.

31/01/2003 Comment by West Ham United manager, Glenn Roeder

"He is coming to join us on a short term contract until the end of the season and he believes he can show us enough in three and a half months for us to want to secure him on a longer contract - which is what we want him to do.

We are going to know an awful lot more about him, and he is going to know more about us, come the end of the season.

We are very positive about a young player that spent two years at Lilleshall with Joe Cole; they were partners in the midfield and David chose the Arsenal route while Joe chose West Ham, as everyone knows.

He is a very good footballer, as we have seen in the two days training he has had with us and the friendly against Reading, he is comfortable on the ball, he knows his next pass before he receives the ball, and we just hope that we can get him up to the athletic side of the game - which is a must in the Premiership.

He will have plenty of days training with the first team squad which I would assume with the size of the Arsenal squad would have been nearly impossible for him.

If he has anything about him - and we hope he has - he will improve quickly and greatly training with our first team players."

Boston 3-2 Yeovil

... an impressive win for Boston.

Boston went ahead on the stroke of half-time when a David Noble free-kick from the left touchline somehow evaded everyone and bounced past Collis.

Personally he sounds interesting, but unproven, and looks to have been on the downgrade.

I would have preferred Roy Keene, Brian Tinnion or the god that is (was) the Doc

From Boston's site

DOB: 02/02/1982

Nationality: British

Height: 5ft11

Previous clubs: Arsenal, Watford, West Ham United

Debut: v Torquay United (February 2004)

Manager Steve Evans pulled off a real coup when he persuaded David Noble to join Boston United on a two-year contract from West Ham United.

The former Arsenal midfielder spent the end of the 2003-2004 season on loan with the Pilgrims, and made the move permanent after being released by the Hammers.

The creative player had joined Arsenal as a trainee in August 1999 although he failed to break through into the Gunners' first-team and subsequently joined Watford on loan towards the conclusion of the 2001-2002 campaign.

However, he returned to the Gunners after his loan spell expired before leaving Highbury for good in the summer of 2003, and he signed a contract with West Ham. Prior to his arrival at York Street, Noble had played 15 league games for Watford, scoring one goal, before appearing four times for the Hammers.

Think boy think!

Wind up?

If anything, its better to loan him before we sign him, then we can at least see how he fits into our set up, along with many other advantages.

He did play for West Ham but I think a few of you may be confusing him with Mark Noble

Spot on! Mark Noble is a quality player establishing himself with West Ham as for this lad if he's that good, what's he been doing at Boston United??? :dunno:

We need players from a higher level on loan. That Chesterfield guy who scored the rocket second goal, Hurst I think his name is, is exactly the calibre of player we want.

Was given a lot of encouragement to join them, don't know why he did want to sign for them. Maybe they payed him well? Maybe he was given some incentives?!? But the main thing is that he is coming to us!

We need players from a higher level on loan.

He is of a higher level than what we have.

Lets go through the list of our squad over the last couple of seasons who came from the "higher" divisions then:-

Louis Carey (Coventry) - setting the world alight?

Scott Murray (Reading) - unqualified success?

Marcus Stewart (Sunderland) - banging in the goals for fun?

Michael Bridges (Sunderland) - goal scoring machine?

Tony Dinning (Wolves?) - ran through brick walls for this club?

Jamie Smith (Crystal Palace) - disciplined quality full back?

Dave Partridge (Motherwell) - commanding Centre half?

Bradley Orr (Newcastle) - some rate him, some don't.

Scott Brown (Everton) - runs through brick walls but off form.

Luke Wilkshire (Middlesbrough) - hides when the going gets tough in my opinion (where was he for the half hour that Chesterfield effectively won the game?)

As many on the above list prove, it's not all about who you've played for. Thats ten players with supposed pedigree. And nine of them are responsible for where we find ourselves at the moment.
