Will Rollason Posted December 1, 2005 Report Share Posted December 1, 2005 Anyone give me any tips on what to look for when buying a digital Camcorder?Many thanksshort answer...you really do get what you pay for.Also they really are glorified camcorders with little tapes and faster digi scanning on playback so to get the full benifit of the digital aspect get a large sd card ( 512mb or 1gb) or else you wont be able to film to the card and edit digitally.look for good battery time and shutterl rate on the camera( shutter rates are slow on camcorders)i use a canon mv series at work and it seems to do the job.again, short answer...spend as much as you can on a canon or olympus etc.also their software will be good,camedia( olympus) is greatcheerswill.
