Northern Red
Apparently quite a few banks are limiting withdrawals to £50 in some areas as demand for cash has gone through the roof today and they don't have enough capacity to refill them all.I suggest everyone panics to make the situation worse. Dollymarie
Times like Christmas I only ever carry about 20 quid around on me, and pay the rest by card, not worth the risk carrying large amounts of money on you.

robins72
Thats absolute rubbish! I work for a high street bank and it is bank policy to stock the cash machine full at the end of the day prior to a bank holiday. The staff even have a call out fee if the cash machine breaks down. MAde me laugh though!!
Guest Legend City Man
Esso garage in warmely is the worse.. You cant actually take cash out of the machine, just look at your balance.. whats the point in that, i go online or to the bank if I wanna check my balance.. and the natwest machine in asda longwell green,, always out of service, youd think something would be done about it especially over xmas.. I personally think that its a ploy from some banks, close all the cash points which mean customers pay more using cards, then higher interest for the banks, its not on! lukejones2
I went into the mall on Xmas eve with £570 and walked out of ASDA about 4 hours later with enough cash to fill my tank. I have lost my cards and need a bank to open soon

I have lost my cards and need a bank to open soon Banks not open until Wedsday. Hope you have cancelled your cards. Take a cheque into the bank and with a driving licence / passport you should be ok to cash. Not ideal I know but the only option at the mo.
