One Team In Keynsham Posted December 30, 2005 Report Share Posted December 30, 2005 I always find it funny when managers starting whinging about players having to be released for the African Nations Cup (and Olympics, South American championships etc) and thus miss games in the middle of the English season. Guess what? You have signed an international player. It is not beyond the bounds of reason that the player will want to represent his country in a senior tournament. Nor is it unreasonable that African nations will want to select their strongest squad. If you don't want to lose players mid-season then don't buy them.
