wookey
The bauble of an MBE is nothing compared to being part of an England Team that won the Ashes. On a wider point. Why are Honours given to people who are doing the job they are paid to do; whether they be civil servants pop stars or sportsman? dagest
I just don't know. When I first saw the headline, I imagined it was Stewart, but then I remembered that he's not exactly doing his job. However, I suppose it could be in recognition of his patronage of east Bristol pubs. It's all a pointless sham.
next_year_I_hope
he got the mbe for hitting the ball in a straight line and standing in a field for hours with his hands on his knees, touching the ball every now and then.remember the times when honours actually went to the right people. i blame labour

It doesn't matter who's in charge, the gongs go to people in the news and in the gosspip columns, though when a lollypop lady or a road sweeper gets one it's often well deserved. red as fcuk
Plenty of other people are honoured, it's just not very likely to make the headlines, unless the people honoured are well known.......i.e celebs and sportsmen/women.
