Guest Harry Dolman Posted January 20, 2006 Report Share Posted January 20, 2006 Whilst it didn't work out for the Charlton lads (though' I manintain that Sankofa will be a decnet centre back) getting these sorts of players from Prem sides isn't a bad strategy - it has worked well with the likes of Danns (Colly) & Spicer (B'mouth) & it also worked for a guy called Andy Cole.There seems no immediate indication that anyone is going to get dropped for messrs Fontaine (who has already played a fair amount at this level) & Green - but if nothing else they provide cover. I have no problems with Woody but he is our only left back. Even if they were with us, neither Partridge or Fortune are natural full backs & neither would add anything to our attacking play.Lets at least give em a chance before consigning them to the dustbin.
