shepton red
Just in from the game, points of note:- First 20 mins played some good stuff, although never looked a real threat.- Bas Savage played some very decent football.- Cotteril looked good.- The 1st goal was very well taken, looked as though it went in via a deflection... may be wrong.- No cutting edge.- No pace going forward.- Referee was taking stick throughout the game from the home fans.- City had 1 good penalty shout, and Murray did dive thus deserved his booking.- Second half was fairly good from a City perspective up until the final third. No Penetration, no threat.- Barnsley fans make Ashton Gate look like the san Siro on derby day, appalling considering thier league position.- Was never a penalty, referee buckled under the pressure from the home fans reagrding their perception that the ref was biased in our favour.- Stewart did nothing when he came on, imo shouuld have been given a longer run- Skuse did not influence the game, would have been better to start with Wilkshire. All in all fairly solid at the back, no creativity ( where was Wilkshire?), Oakwell was like a morgue (away fans apart).Roll on Brentford who will have a point to score following our away win and Martin Allen having a point to prove to the Chairman.
