Irishred
Sheffield Wednesday finished the season last year on 72 points and were promoted through the playoffs. If we keep winning we could end up on 73 points. Is promotion still a possibility? It could start to get tight at the top as teams get the jitters and start to lose points. Look at Southend today. We have nothing to lose now and can give it a lash.

With the run-in Swansea, Huddersfield & Barnsley have (the 3 teams in the play-off spots that have played 38 games), there is no chance of us even sneaking in. Ben4BCFC
1st Milestone is staying up.If we make 55 points then start to look up. However I think all we can aim for this year is as high as position as possible to attract people in the summer and get confidence up!

It would be interesting to know how they compared with the same number of games to go, as we have now. I would hazard a guess that they were in a stronger position than us, so any comparison is futile.
Fodbarmyarmy
I heard an Interview with Noble on the radio where he slipped in a comment that the team are not considering the season to be over by a long way - and I don't think he was talking about a relegation fightIts not over until its over

As I thought, Palace had several more points than us, and the top of the table was obviously easier to reach than from our current position. i_am_red
21 points to play for I think12 points off the play-offs is it?all we can do is keep getting results and finish high as possible its a win/win situation, if we don't reach the play-offs, which is very doubtful to say the least, we still finish strongly for next season!! Rednready
Last season Tinnion had us a point short of the play offs. We won 3 of the last 4 games and in the last but one match we dropped 2 points due to an unbelievable draw against Doncaster. Stats were well in our favour. Won shots on target 14-5 Won corners 13-3 Won free kicks 24-14 We had more possession and LITA did not play due to suspension. We had Fortune and Golbourne in the back 4, Murray was stretchered off after 38 minutes. Bell hit the bar after 73 minutes. Clearly the football Gods were punishing us for having an upstart like Brian deciding to be a manager, nothing went right that day, the statistics we won, the game we drew, the final 6 spot we lost. This season we need to win 7 and draw 1, that 71 points might give us a show, but we will have to rely on two teams falling in a heap.
