WesM
Just got back from AG, watched a strong reserve team lose to a relatively strong Bournemouth reserve side, which included Wade Elliot!! We missed out by the odd goal in five, having come back from 2-0 down. Bournemouth's winner coming after a bad pass from defence. The point of the post is to raise a viewpoint over reserve selection. Leroy Lita, Joe Burnell and Clayton Fortune started the game for City, all of them were on 1st team duty last night in Grimsby. Is anybody else concerned that (a) we could be burning our younger players out by asking them to play two games in such a short period of time? (Admittedly, bit parts, if at all against Grimsby but they still had to travel, train etc). (b) Some of the younger lads could have got a game in their place and help with their development, especially in view of the changes that are soon to me made to Youth Football?? Guest Mr Snufflelufagus
Did they play all the game?
WesM
Lita came off about 15 mins from the end, but I think JB and CF played 90 mins! (May be wrong, spent half the second half looking for my little boy who kept running away!)
fRed
Loxton, Lita and Anyinsah were the players subbed. Anyinsah looked good on the left wing, if he gets the hang of the offside rule then he could be one to watch out for in the future. Joe Burnell had a good game. Spud55
Keeps those players as match fit as possible. Also if as i assume the ressies play the same system as the first team then it means they can slot in better if they are playing regular games in their native position. But Joe and Clayton didn't kick a ball except in the warm-up so if they hadn't played today ...
RedUn
Two of the Cherries goals from set pieces I notice - the Mogadon seems to be general issue, still when we get it cracked we really will be magic!
WesM
Also, just a footnote from todays reserve game, Hereford United's manager Graham Turner was in the crowd this afternoon, making many notes. Obviously watching someone!!
