Guest chipper
Few pubs very close to Roots Hall but they probably wont let away supporters in. Try the town centre as there are loads of pubs/bars. its roughly a 10 minute walk from ground.
Jay
Few pubs very close to Roots Hall but they probably wont let away supporters in.Most of us are gonna be wearing Bermuda shirts/shorts - unless they check our tickets, how are they gonna tell if we are away fans or not? City Rocker
A mate of mine is from Sarfend and he's recommended The Nelson on North Street, so I'm meeting him there on Saturday, post match. He says: "The Pub is called The Nelson, its the opposite end of the ground to where you'll be (the North Bank). Its a typical big scruffy football ground pub with a beer garden out the back. You won't get any trouble anywhere you go, its probably the best pub before the match also because its big."
Guest we nearly blue it
Hi All,there are a few pubs around the ground. Only real 'home pubs' are the spread eagle & railway tavern (if your coming by train, this one is the first one you come to when you leave prittlewell station. Of all of them, this is the one best avoided) That still leaves the Nelson as already mentioned, Golden lion (a couple of doors down from the spread) and the Blue Boar (a couple of doors up and across the road). blue boar & lion are closest to the ground. Think you'll find a party atmosphere where ever you decide to booze. Hope this helps & have a safe journey.
