CodeRed
Well the Evening Post Sports journalist really earned his money this week that's for sure !!They bring you - at great expense (well 35p ) the following bombshellCity are interested in signing................wait for it You'll never guess who Phil JevonsANDeven more of a supriseMichael Reddygod knows where the journalist gets his info from - but none of us saw that coming did we?And they also bring us the riveting story behind the news that Jevons used to play for GJ at YeovilBet you didn't know that did you? Finally - to show that you just can't afford not to buy the Evening Post if your a City fan - they finish upwith the startling revelation that:Philips may be transfer listed (really !- they'll be hitting us with the exclusive that he's fallen out with GJ next)Jamie Smith will not be offered a contract (Wow!)Partridge & G. Smith "may" be listed (another shock)& the future's of McCammon, Savage, & Abbey are "unclear"oh and Stewart "does not seems to be part of Johnsons plans" .........not much gets by these journos does it?Does ANYBODY actually buy or read that rubbish anymore ?I would be ashamed to write such boring, repetive old news if I was a journalist, more thought goes into the average post on OTIB than these EP guys manage and they are being PAID to investigate & find out what's going on. The Dolman Pragmatist
So basically you are saying that everything in the WDP article is true. What do you suggest? That they make up some lies? How would that give you your money's worth?

Gazred
I gave up on that local rag ages ago. If you want the latest news and rumors, OTIB, the official site and other football news sites are a better option, after all, most of the EPs stories regarding BCFC seem to have been posted on here days, weeks or even months before they appear in the paper. CodeRed
I think its rather good for all the people that don't have Internet access, how else would they find out such news? Are you seriously suggesting that there is a single City fan - with or without Internet access - who would read that paper today and , for the first ever time , learn that City and Johnson are/have been interested in Jevons or Reddy ....or that Phillips was out of favor, or that the Smiths were likely to leave ???By the way - for those you champion who don't have access to 21st century media or the Evening PostLeroy Lita's been sold to Reading for 1 millionThe Beatles split upNelson Mandeala has been freedElvis has died (allegedly)The Berlin wall is no moreand - sorry to be the one to break it to you.................(you may have been wondering who that short fat bloke is who's been on our bench and who keeps waving to the crowd )................................but Brian Tinnion resigned as manager some time ago, sorry ! Yes I do know of people who rely on the paper for the sports section, 9 times out of 10 it's elderly relatives who tend not go socialise in the football circle and yet when I speak to them they like to talk to me about City. mozo
This annoys me:It starts confidently, thus..."JEVONS IS TOP CITY TARGETBristol City have made Yeovil Town striker Phil Jevons one of their top summer transfer targets."....but then backtracks..."Johnson has confirmed his intention to make four or five new signings - but will not reveal his targets before they sign on the dotted line."So was the initial claim inside info, made up, or just obvious rumours stolen from a certain football forum by lazy/overworked journos?
