I think (but don't quote me on this), that trademark addresses can be bought by the general public, but as with the recent .eu launch, trademark holders get first priority (if they want it) on any addresses that may be relevant to them, and then a couple of months later it is left to the general public who can get any remaining addresses that they may choose to buy.
