So why was the Gott Mit Uns on belt buckles then Moz?

Even Noel Coward sang "Let's not be beastly to the Germans".

My two favourite theologians were German: Martin Luther and Dietrich Bonhoeffer. They would have made a great partnership in the centre of defence too.

How easily we forget WW1, WW2, Adolf Hitler, Jens Lehmann, Claudia Schiffer, Volkswagon, Liverwurst and Lederhosen.

To like Germany is just not patriotic. Its just.............well its just not British ! :englandsmile4wf::englandsmile4wf:

And anyway I've got France in the work sweep !!

Remember that Germany has a wonderful history prior to 1914, it was the cradle of much philosophical, religious and scientific development, and the beer is WUNDERBAR

True, but two World Wars are a pretty big blot on their copybook.

70% of the population was born after that period, and I think they have changed somewhat.

Why is this happening then?

Sharp Rise in Neo-Nazis in Germany

German Interior Minister Otto Schily said Tuesday there had been a sharp rise in the number of neo-Nazis in Germany over the past year. The number of extremists displaying neo-Nazi sympathies rose more than 25 percent between 2003 and 2004, from 3,000 to 3,800, Schily said at a press conference to present the findings of the domestic intelligence service in 2004. These extremists consider themselves to be "the fighters of a 'German Reich' which contains no foreigners or Jews and is led by a Führer," the interior ministry report said. The intelligence services also recorded a rise of more than 10 percent in the number of crimes committed by the extreme-right, such as attacks on immigrants and denial of the Holocaust. The figure was 12,051 offences in 2004 compared with 10,792 the year before. The total number of far-right extremists prone to violence remained the same at around 10,000, with around half living in the former East Germany, where unemployment is higher. The report added that neo-Nazi supporters were playing an increasing role in the National Democratic Party (NPD), which caused shockwaves when it won more than nine percent of the votes in an election in the eastern state of Saxony last September. Schily described the election result as "shameful."

Youve got to admire the french on some counts,

they told their government to stick their attempt at liberalising their labour laws, hence when peugeut try to shed jobs, its not french jobs that go first.

Ive only ever driven through it, so don't know that much about them,

Zidane is a great player though, i hope he lifts up the world cup on sat.

Bit like the BNP then.........and as far as I'm aware there are no councillers representing the sieg heilers in the West, unlike the BNP. I can assure you there is no danger of a Nazi takeover in Germany anytime soon. theres more chance of a Far Left one first....key word in all this is former East Germany. the Former W Germany had 65 Million citizens, East Germany 17m...the brains moved West.the boneheads stayed.

And the fact its discussed and is shameful indicates it aint going to take over either.or is that what you'd like to see? :dunno:
