Admin Ian M Posted July 19, 2006 Admin Report Share Posted July 19, 2006 He was rumoured to have been released from Forest to cut on wages but this week he has been linked with a move to Chester City (source) so surely his wage demands can't be that high?Could it be worth inviting him down for a friendly and see how he gets on?If we signed him on we could have some serious competition between him and Weale for the number 1 spot once Weale gets over his injury in November. Redhyde
I'm not sure we (GJ) wants another senior keeper on the books. With Basso contracted until the end of the year, there's not much point in having another "challenging" keeper.Weale's #1 and will be for a while once/if he gets over his injury. I'm just waiting to see how Johnson drops Basso when Weale's fit.
Taz
I wouldn't say no to him, pretty good goalkeeper by all accounts. If Chester are going for him, then surely his wages can't be that much of a problem? What you have to remember is that Weale isn't available until at least November - That's 4 months into the season.Sign Gerrard or an unknown keeper from a Premiership side for that period? Know what I'd prefer.
Rocky
Who was the GK tonight? although had f'all to do he did pull off a good couple of saves when it went mental in the box in the last 10mins. I assume by the fact GJ has let flapper go he has someone lined up?
