Surely there is no chance whatsoever of him taking part even if he does sign and is eligible.

I am not expecting him to take part either but I was just wondering what the current situation is in regards to eligibility when signing just before a match.

I think you'll find that when most people sign its usually illegible, so I would assume LJ will be the same.

I think IIRC it is around midday on the day of a mid week match for a permanent signing and around 5pmish for a loan signing.

If a club signs a player from another country (which Scotland is) then he has to wait for international clearance to come through and sometimes that takes a while.

Yea that's true, but even if he wasn't playing in another country i remember when we re-signed Carey on the day of a home game and he wasn't eligible i think.
