headhunter Posted March 1, 2004 Report Share Posted March 1, 2004 I have been a critic of DW but like all thought things were at last coming together and team slections were logical - no Burnell, Wilkshire in centre of midfield. Picking up on some comments from others on Saturday I make the following of my own. Why do we pay £150k for a winger, play him on the wrong side [right when he is clearly left footed], drop him and then leave him on the bench whilst bringing on the player [Roberts] who it would appear he has been brought in to replace ??? Why is DW playing Wilkshire out wide again ?? He was weak on Saturday. For me a Wilkshire / Doherty midfield hub with Tinns on the bench is the right option now. Goodfellow should play in his natural position and have '1 in 10' Aaron Brown as a very capable sub. What about the right side ? Still a problem ? Lita - he isn't a winger but has a high workrate. Look how often Miller picks up and shields the ball on the touchline - wingers do not all have to be like Murray or Goodfellow. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
