Big Red Rich
Imagine joining a club on loan, being introduced to the lads in the morning then watching them scrap in the evening? I'd love to know what he was thinking, like "my god, what have I let myself in for?"!!!
RedM
I think he'll be more concerned that he won't get a game here. Maybe he heard that Basso is a useless clown who's confidence is shot and he's going to be dropped at the first opportunity...Then he sits an watches Basso have a great match! NailseaRed
I'd feel quite pressured coming into a club where the manager has obviously begged you to take the number 1 shirt from Basso haha.

RedM
Apart from spilling the shot which led to their first goal, of course...I didn't actually see the match, as I've said elsewhere. But from what the radio said, comments on here and reports in the press and other websites, Basso had a much improved performance. Not faultless, who ever has a faultless game, but improved? Chivs
Apart from spilling the shot which led to their first goal, of course...Not taking account of the two deflections and whole host of players the ball travelled through, of course... RedM
And another point, doesn't he come on loan from Reading? Are they without troubled players then?
Red_Mat
Not taking account of the two deflections and whole host of players the ball travelled through, of course...Did you actually see the goal?! He had the ball in his hands and his whole body behind the ball. Still it managed to squirm out and roll lamely to an opposition player. That mistake had nothing whatsoever to do with people stood in front of him.
cidergeorge
Apart from spilling the shot which led to their first goal, of course...And of course the fact that no defenders followed up when their scorer came running in. Why?
Red_Mat
And of course the fact that no defenders followed up when their scorer came running in. Why?Because any normal goalkeeper would have been expected to save the shot in the first place, perhaps...?!
Ashcott Boy
Are you sure you have seen the goal, the ball was deflected and travelling at pace and it hit him. Yes, he had his body behind the ball but it was a very difficult shot to hold onto.
robins72
Ok the guy has made a few mistakes this season so far. But lets TRY and get behind him. Surely if we can forgive 2 players for raising heads at each other and one being sent off we can give Basso another chance?
Nibor
And of course the fact that no defenders followed up when their scorer came running in. Why?It happened too fast, the defenders had been facing away from the goal just starting to run out for offside when the shot came through them and it fell right to the forward. The errors were in not shutting down the second cross, the keeper not taking the second cross instead of Showunmi heading it away, and not charging down the shot. exiledinwatford
Anyone know what Federici is like? He didn't look that big in the warm up but he looked pretty good - not that it really counts for much. Incidentally - well done Basso but one match doesn't make him a different keeper. He got some luck, maybe he deserved it. Let's hope it sticks!
nester
And of course the fact that no defenders followed up when their scorer came running in. Why?or charged down the bloke who put the cross in who had enough time to put the kettle on before he crossed.
The Fat Controller
Because any normal goalkeeper would have been expected to save the shot in the first place, perhaps...?!Even after two deflections? If it was Phillips no doubt you'd be saying how unlucky it was that the ball was deflected twice.
