BCFC_Dan
Today's league paper says we're preparing a bid for Michael Kightly of Grays. Apparently he's a goalscoring midfielder.I imagine it's just paper talk, but has anybody else heard anything? Anybody seen him play?

bh_red
Sunday Paper talk so who knows, but at least if true shows Gary is looking for a winger, could be an good signing, apparently he is a 20 year old, pacy winger has already scored 5 goals this season, not sure what side he plays but Grays have a good repuation for producing League players, main problem though is if we are interested would be getting him to sign over the likes of more local clubs like Southend and Colchester. cheshire_red
He plays in the Conference for a side in the South East, yep that would all add up.Tommy Black still available.
mtraveller
if he is that good we will have to move fast. before one of the london clubs do.
Keyred
"Grays Athletic are facing a battle to hang onto Aaron McLean & Michael Kightly in January. Brighton were rebuffed when they made a deadline day inquiry for striker McLean, but the League One side are still tracking the 23-year-old and now face competition from Nottingham Forest. Kightly, 20, who has hit five goals in seven matches, has Bristol City, Chester, Wycombe Wanderers and Yeovil interested."He's a right winger, extremely well thought of at Grays. He was at Southend originally, so probably wouldn't go back there. Which leaves Wycombe as the closest 'interested' club but Yeovil and ourselves as the higher league placed clubs. If he has confidence in his own ability he'll want to show it on the biggest stage available to him at the moment and, with no disrespect to the other mentioned clubs, that's us. Plus I'd imagine we'd likely pay more than the others (pure conjecture about that, though). If on the other hand he wants first team football now, one of the other clubs are more likely to provide him with it.With Scott Murray coming to the end of his career a player to battle Scott Brown for the right wing position can only be healthy for the club. Not that I'm advocating Scotty B's removal from the team in any way, shape or form (before the Subbers start )
