Message For Notts Police

You're almost certainly reading this forum so I thought I'd pass on some comments on your efforts on Saturday.

1) Why is it that when you had about 10 officers watching(filming) the City fans that you didn't notice the Forest fans sat in our block?

This situation is so bizarre that I feel I must be missing something. There was one fan wearing a Forest shirt who was not being subtle. Frankly, I was terrified for him if Forest scored again. How can this be sensible policing?

2) I was lucky enough to miss all of the troubles. I left immediately after the game and walked, with friendly and chatty Forest fans, back to the train station. I walked past the bar that had all of the trouble. Right outside the ground I saw officers harassing (probably with a lot of justification) a group of City fans. From the ground to the City centre I didn't see one other police officer. Where did you all go? Is it sensible to cause hold ups right outside the ground but not have any presence next to the nearest bars?

3) The A42? What was that all about? I was held up in miles of queues because you decided to escort 2 minibuses using 2 transit vans and a police car. With their blue lights blazing away. I expect it was a very prudent move to escort those minibuses but why use the blue lights and just travel at 50mph? Is this sensible policing?

4) Finally, I hope that you find the perpetrators of the crimes on Saturday but also recognise your poor performance. You didn't manage to contain the mindless thugs (which is a very difficult job that I do not envy you for) but you did manage to antagonise many law abiding football fans.

Fair point made.

I was on one of the CATS coaches and we had lots of old blokes dressed like chavs outside the coach....not CATS members I hope!!! Running after the police when the trouble started outside the ground. Pathetic.....this is not the right sort of example to set the 17 year old involved in the trouble. 41 year old man from WSM involved.....expect of a person in 20's, but not someone who should know better. No disrespect to anyone, but probably dragged up from one of the bad estates in the local area!!

Also did anyone notice the lack of signs directing people to the ground. We were on the coach and the signs suddenly dissapeared. Also when we asked a chap in a car which way the ground was he pointed in the wrong direction....no doubt for a laugh. Was not funny when we ended up a one way street unable to turn around!!!

Where was the police escort? Saw one after game and followed it through the traffic but this was just for 3 or 4 mini buses. Then they directed them off a country lane and not the main exit out of Nottingham!!

Anyway enjoyed the game, shame the result was not the correct one, but us true fans can still hold our heads high cause our boys did the business. xxx
