I notice that the new name for York City's ground is now the ridiculously entitled 'Kit Kat Crescent'. Most will remember when it was 'Bootham Crescent'. It made me think that I would rue the day that the powers that be at our beloved club decide to rename our ground - 'Screwfix Stadium', 'Hirerite Gate' or even ''The Blackthorn Ground'. Heaven forbid that we ever sell out our identity to some faceless business concern. I would just pray that fans would simply refuse to call it anything but 'Ashton Gate'. Sponsorship has reduced our game, and most other sports to being simply billboards for commercial concerns, and this is one of the great tragedies of the modern era, when profit comes before tradition.
