mtraveller
we should have gone for carl asaba instead of barry corr. we need someone to cover for brooker and asaba would have done the job. barry corr might go on to be a top player but at the moment he is not what we need. i know on this forum people don't want leon knight which is fair enough but we need someone like him a proven scorer at this level. last season we got david noble on a 3 month loan and agreed a fee with boston to sign him in january. why not try it again with someone like james hayter. we need to do something. some big games ahead and we need goals. corr, williams and wright do not look like they have to many goals in them. we need to act now. bh_red
well rumour was a couple of weeks ago, that he was ashton gate and held talks but obviously nothing has happened so either he turned us down or it wasn't truehe is a free agent and experienced at this level (unsure if he still has it), however he does seem to have turned down a few offers from various club including, Leeds, Leicester, Forest and Yeovil......so if all those couldn't agree deals imagine he turned down us as well.looking at the leicester reports he didn't want a short-term deal...make of that what you want

heathma
Asaba given trial at Chesterfield Chesterfield are giving a trial to experienced former Sheffield United striker Carl Asaba. The 33-year-old left Millwall in the summer after he was released. Earlier this season, Asaba joined Leicester on non-contract terms before leaving last month without playing a game for Rob Kelly's side. Chesterfield manager Roy McFarland: "It's a good chance for us to take a closer look at him because we know he has a lot of experience to offer." Asaba has scored 106 League goals in a 12-year professional career that has seen him play for seven clubs.
