mtraveller
i have been on this forum going on about michael kightly, he is one of the best players in non league football and we should sign him. it was reported that we have watched the lad. well it looks like we have missed out. looking at todays news of the world he will be signing for wolves on loan and they will pay 125k in jan. that is a snip. why are we so slow, this story about us looking at him broke about 6 weeks ago. Chappers
if we are to spend that much money on any player he needs to be able to go straight into the 1st teamBit of a short-sighted view. And how do you know that he would not go straight into the First-Team squad? If Corr, Savage, Youga and Wright can make our first team, it hardly indicates Earth-shatteringly high standards! MATT BCFC
I remember mentioning Gary Roberts of Accrington Stanley last season who's a very good left winger and hes now joined Ipswich.
RedM
How do you know he didn't turn us down? It's easy to assume that it's always us failing to strike a deal. Maybe he was advised to wait for a championship club, or higher, to come in for him once his profile was raised?I'm not saying this is the case but once some of these young lads get their heads turned and promised all sorts by Agents and the like they start to aim higher and higher. They probably think of Division 1 being the same as Division 2, 'The Championship' sounds much more appealing. Can't blame them really, it's their big chance.
