Scariest & Worst Monment

Oh well with all the topics asking your proudest moment, i thought i would ask who has had the scariest moment??

Remember when we beat Plymouth 1-0 at their ground this season, and they released their fans at the same time as ours and the CSF were there and punches were flying, old bill, dogs, choppers.

Me and my mate had to walk almost a mile back to the car with our shirts off in case we would of been killed, that was a night to remember, - cant wait till we get the pasties up here and the boot is on the other foot. (Or in their groin. :) )

blimey there has been quite a few over the years but the one that sticks out must have been city vs millwall mid 80's now the walk through bedminster to the ground was hairy, the black horse got smashed up and a mini riot through the streets/ashton park and inside ashton gate, must have been ONE of the worst

spouts of trouble seen at ashton gate, although sheffield united at ahton gate

was a bit naughty too. :)

The Preston end was naughty when it kicked off, that was scarey.

The most frightening, but funny looking back was when we played Cardiff at home around 2000. Me and a mate got a lft to Temple Meads and were crossing the road when I noticed a police van coming out of the station, and one parking just infront of us on the bridge - I thought nothing of it. Well the first lights changed and we crossed to the middle of the road, (The traffic lights by the bridge over the river) I looked across and to my horror saw 500 Cardiff walking straight towards us. The lights wouldn't change so we could finish crossing and the traffic was too heavy to run out in. Just as they got within spitting distance the lights changed and we scurried off. We must have looked so silly.

That walk back to Cardiff Central in a police escort from Tinnion Park in 2001 was very ummm interesting! It was when we'd just won 3-1 and things were kicking off. Still, apart from abuse and coins flying, nothing much happened to me. Very imtimidating though.

Early 70's , the 'wall away. Walking back to New Cross Gate on me jack. Looked round to see 10-12 Millwall folowing me ,walked a tad faster, so did they! Ended up looking like a Benny Hill chase! Dived in the station, a train just leaving, prised the doors open ,jumped on just in time as doors closed again leaving irate pursuers on platform throwing things, and me (bravely) making V signs! Needless to say the train was not the one I required and ended up in darkest Kent, but alive!

Got home late, very late. What could I say to the wife?

" Darling I've been beaten up again!"

After the 1-1 draw with Cardiff a couple of seasons ago. me my mate and my brother were making our usual walk along winterstoke road towars David Llloyd, now we had never experienced trouble before and somehow we ended up in a bunch of Cradiff fans.

The first thing that happened was a lanky greasy one grabbed me turned me round and said "english ######" before spitting in my face, now I had to fight the urge to smash this guy and I'm not a violentman. I just turned round and walked off, then i was stopped by the old bill while with some cardiff fans who were jostling me around, I asked him to let me through as I was a city fan in the wrong place but he said " no you stay there". I eventually got free with some battered pride and a huge hatred towards the welsh and cardiff!

A few seasons back at home to Millwall, the game where the seats were flying all over the place. Was sat around 10 yards away from segregation with me dad and his mate for a bit of atmosphere. Never knew it were going to kick off in the stands!

Left straight after the Mathews penalty went in in the last minute cus of the City fans going after the Millwall, walked out of the Williams into the car park and past the away end entances and saw about 10 Millwall fans eying us up. Started walking towards us so we kept our heads down and carried on.

Overall not really scarey just an 'on your guard' moment just in case really. Good game and good result!!!

Seeing Scott McGarvey warming up ready to come on as a sub !

No seriously Birmingham away 1968 ish 2 of us getting chased by a mob of 50,and later in the late 70's getting lamped on the Tilson End.

Leeds away 1967/8 getting a kicking.

Mind you I have not always been on the receiving end. :)

Although not a Liberal pinko I am now able to spot situations developing and take appropriate action to avoid unnecessary confrontation.

Millwall away circa 1999/2000 when we lost upp there 4-1. We'd been drinking at Charing Cross and caught the tube to London Bridge where we were due to jump on a train. The concourse was crawling with Police, dogs, spotters, the works with the Millwall firm tearing up the Garfunkels restaurant that they'd been herded into. We got put on a train with a load of Millwall (thankfully more restrained) and I swear that you didn't hear a peep from the five of us until we were at the turnstyles.

When I go to Millwall again, I'll be wearing brown trousers. I certainly was by the end of that particular day.

I was in the Dolman for the game in the 80's when we played Millwall. A few of them got to the then steps at the bottom of The Dolman, then City went down to meet them.

After we played West Ham in a League Cup game, again in the 80's. Leaving the ground we did not realise ICF were just infront, they suddenly turned around and just attacked anyone. During the game they were in the Williams and we were in the Enclosure with them pelting coins down on us, and City fans trying to climb the wall into the seats.

Worst personal experience was when I was kept in a headlock by a scottish gashead (he had about 10 mates with him) after a win at Twerton. He wanted the Irish football shirt off my back or else he was going to stab me. He did not get the shirt and I did not get stabbed, I assume he was one of them sectarian bigots.

Further down the road I asked some City fans coming towards me for a lift to Bristol to get home safe rather than get the bus, but they had had the car windows put through.

Bristol Rovers - family club = cr@p got that Evil Post?

The walk back to cardiff central was quite bad but not as scary as just before when i got out of tinnion park or on the platform (not for the train to bristol, but just north of cardiff).

Anyhoo just as i got out of the ground i was walking not really knowing where to go, so i stopped next to a police van with my mate, i heard a huge thud behind me turned around to see a huge brick on the floor and a dent in the van less than 1/2 a foot above my head, i moved away from there very quickly.

When we got to the station the rest of the city fans went to the platform for the bristol train, but me, my mate and my dad needed a train just north of cardiff so we had to get on another platform with over 100 cardiff fans and not a policeman in sight, i was stupid enough to put my city top on under the coat so i was $h##*ng myself, luckily they were too thick to notice the red shirt hanging down past my coat, although nothing happened to us it was my scariest moment at a football game.

Trouble follows me it seems!

Wednesday last week was pretty dodgy, on my larry going back to the station on a bus full of Sheffield fans, fighting everywhere.

Prince of Wales at the Mill Stad final was nasty, tear gas, looting and fighting. Had to escape down the fire exit on the top floor.

In last Div One season we ended up walking alongside Birmingham's firm to the ground with not a policeman in sight, didn't say a word the whole way.

Never actually been attacked thankfully, but looking back sometimes been quite lucky.

I think it was 76/77, in the old first division days, there were four coaches went to Anfield for the league clash against Liverpool.

Gerry Gow scored an absolute belter from 35 yards to earn us a draw against the then-mighty Reds and since the Liverpool police felt that just four coaches-worth of away fans didn't merit any special attention they simply left us after the game, in the dark, to navigate Stanley Park to meet our coach on the other side. The only words of police support I recall were "If anyone asks you the time, it;s cos they want to nick your watch. Pretend to be a scouser and say 'yoou-wahht'"

There then followed a terrifying walk (which simply couldn't be allowed to turn into a run because that would have enraged any onlooking scousers) across the park to the coach. Remember these were the bad old days of 70s hooligans.

Incidentally, the following year walking on my own across the park after the game I was attacked by a couple of scousers yet, strangely, that experience was less terrifying than the year before.

Just imagine these days, City only taking 200 people in 4 coaches to Anfield!

Plymouth was damn scary, couldnt avoid the trouble waiting for at the end of that lane! Personally though, Cardiff 1-3 Bristol City a few years back. My mate nearly had his head taken off by a brick on the way back to the bus plus me and another mate had cuts from the coins, both near our eyes. There was a dude on our coach who said he got hit by a dart on his harm! BUt we stuffed the welsh ######s so it was all good once we got back over the bridge!

I remember when it was real bad in the 70's and Ashton Park's wall were covered in Hooligans! Cardiff in 2000 was really scary, coins and bottles of (I tried to say a naughty word) being chucked at us but on the way hoem we went to the Train Station only to see about 300 City Fans go right into about 400 Cardiff Fans which ended in Police on horses coming in and battering them! My 'Mate' is a Cardiff fan and he said he went to a Cardiff - Swansea game which ended in full on riots, Fences being ripped down and bricks being throw at each other!
