It was February 1968 when we drew 1-1 at Ayresome Park and 3 days later beat them 2-1 at the Gate in the replay.Garland scored the goal that earned a replay whilst Connor & Galley were on target in the replay in the days when it was no hassle for the police to cover a game at short notice [not like now when the replay is 10 days later !!].29000 at Boro and 21700 at the Gate. City were in a relegation battle in old Div 2 whilst Boro were chasing promotion.City had Leeds away in Round 5 and lost 2-0. Leeds keeper Gary Sprake sent off for punching Garland !!
