Nottingham Forest have made a bid to sign Gillingham winger Matt Jarvis.

The 20-year-old is out of contract in the summer and has yet to make a decision regarding his long-term future.

He was the subject of a failed bid from Plymouth Argyle before Christmas and is now the target of promotion hopefuls Forest.

Reports suggest Colin Calderwood wants to bring Jarvis to The City Ground initially on loan, with a view to a £250,000 permanent deal.

The Forest boss has confirmed his interest in the young wide man and hopes to reach a deal with his club's League One rivals.

"Jarvis is a player we have been watching for a while," Calderwood told the Nottingham Evening Post.

"We would be very interested in bringing him to the club."

in fairness jury is still out on Wilson for the left wing, did a good job on saturday and against Oldham away few weeks back but hasn't been so effective at home.

looks a good signing and worth a run

Jarvis would be nice, but after problems in the past with Gillingham I doubt they would be overly keen to deal with City on any basis
