PhatWill Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 The official site states that there were 1,924 City fans in attendance last night. I'm pretty sure our allocation was around the 1,850 mark though. If this is the case then was the away end full beyond its approved capacity last night? The rumour was that the City 'lads' who were escorted to the ground just before kick off from Filton have were let in the ground without pre-purchased ticket and I heard of one City fan who had a ticket for the home end and was let into the away end at the turnstile!More questions...last night really was a shambles, and if the away end was full beyond its capacity, then this could be used in tandem with the other incidents such as the crushing and fire exits being pad-locked. Doesn't look good on BRFC from a safety point of view.
Guest STA-BS14 Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 fa should kick them out of the competitiona) hostile natured pitch invasionb) safety aspects of mem a disgrace
Dollymarie Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 There did seem to be a lot of fans STANDING in the aisles, would never have been allowed at our place.
Redtucks Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 There did seem to be a lot of fans STANDING in the aisles, would never have been allowed at our place.Standing in the aisles???The whole of the City end were standing I thought!!!
B-Rizzle Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 City fans were standing in the aisles but there were 2 empty seats behind me so i think it was more a case of them not bothering to look for their seat and just standing where they had an ok view...And your right, it wouldnt have been allowed to happen at AG
Guest Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 There were a good 2 dozen seats around where I was stood (block C, back of the stand) - and I could see more below me.
Guest mesa boogie Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 We had around 300 too many at your place last week...
PhatWill Posted March 1, 2007 Author Posted March 1, 2007 As no-one seems to have disputed my claim then I think it's worth writing to BRFC to find out why the away end seemed to be over filled. What with the other safety issues it was an utter shambles, and the club need to be told so.
PhatWill Posted March 1, 2007 Author Posted March 1, 2007 We had around 300 too many at your place last week...Explain...
robins72 Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 We had around 300 too many at your place last week...Were there not enough seats for your fans then?
Guest mesa boogie Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 Were there not enough seats for your fans then?No where near. Apparently there were around 300 forged tickets... As for our away end, I take it they opened the second penned area as an overflow? Were you allowed to stand in there?
PhatWill Posted March 1, 2007 Author Posted March 1, 2007 No where near. Apparently there were around 300 forged tickets...Rubbish. Looked like there was plenty of space at AG for Rovers fans to me. And 300 forged tickets? Do me a favour, who told you that one?As for our away end, I take it they opened the second penned area as an overflow? Were you allowed to stand in there?Presume so yes. BRFC official site states that for cup matches around 1,500 tickets are available for away fans. Clearly we must have had the overflow area which is why our allocation was 1,850. What I want to know is why the official away attendance was over 1,900. The official attendance figure for you girls at AG was 2,872, so there's no case to answer there as that is exactly how many tickets you were allocated.

The allocation at our place included the whole South Stand which rarely happens for away supporters...

I'd hate for BRFC to be in breach of that, but I'll make it my business to find out. What with Tuesday's events and Stockport's complaint coming on nicely, it seems like you've got a really professional set-up at the rugger ground. No wonder BRFC have been a shambles for the last 6 years, never in danger of getting out of the basement.

Redhyde Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 Not only that, but i thought Rovers and we were on last warnings for pitch invasions?

Leaving you well above the 1,900 quoted...
bartolona Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 The terrace holds with the overflow 1,132The overflow was not used.
Guest mesa boogie Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 The overflow was not used.Fair enough, with out it's around 900...
PhatWill Posted March 1, 2007 Author Posted March 1, 2007 Not rubbish was i a pub last week and bloke was going round selling so called forged ticketsDid you call the police?
BIGPHIL Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 City were given 750 tickets for the away terrace and 1191 for the xxxx. With the City supporters stated at 1924 we should have 17 tickets either not sold or failed to turn up. If this is the case it appears that there was no overcrowding, unless again there were forged tickets about and no one did anything other than allow overcrowding. If this is the case and we get the comment we rather they were in the ground than wondering about outside, someone has to carry the can for exceeding ground capacity.
Guest Wurzel_Bill Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 We had around 300 too many at your place last week...That's nearly 10% of your normal home game attendance.
Guest oh dear Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 There did seem to be a lot of fans STANDING in the aisles, would never have been allowed at our place.yes thats true isnt it ? remember the 2 0 win for us at trashton ?
Guest nerdgas Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 There did seem to be a lot of fans STANDING in the aisles, would never have been allowed at our place.Yeah right. You have never oversold your tickets and locked out your own season ticket holders have you?Aren't you forgetting a certain derby game?
