have just signed, unbelievable - Johnson Out.

James Quinn?! We had him last season, was awful! Good luck to Scunny with him! They must be desperate after selling Keogh!

And as for the Johnson out comment, well, that is just absolutely ridiculous! its only 11:45. Still 5 and a quarter hours left yet!

Does help put things into perspective though, doesn't it? If we could bring in a proven quality player, then all well and good, but if James Quinn is indicative of who is out there and actually available, then our current forward line suddenly looks very good.

Trouble is though that Beckford was slammed by the Carlisle fans yet went to a far better team and turned into a good signing.

The other issue is that our strikers do look good, but looking good sat in The Williams doesn't help!!

Are you forgetting we have Smith upfront?

At least Quinn has actually scored a goal.

Smith v Quinn.....christ! well having seen both of them play for us neither is an ideal signing, though personally prefer Smith seems to be an better playing albeit without the scoring touch at the moment, however that is the only thing lacking,

Quinn is without doubt one of the worst forwards I've ever seen us sign!

What your forgetting is that Quinn wont start for them. They have two quality forwards in Sharp and Beckford.

Got to agree. They have taken him on a months loan then straight away he is unavailable due to international call ups on Saturday and Wednesday. So even if he is just there for cover, he's not really covering is he!

The list of clubs he will have played for is looking quite staggering now though!

I very much doubt that Smith was signed to boost our attacking options in terms of goals. He is doing a very valuable job which Showunmi seems incapable of doing - closing down opposing defences, working hard for the team, defending from the front, getting stuck in. Bas used to do it well - if not better. He is a stopgap pending Brookers return who can do all that and score goals.

To be fair I would hardly call it vauable. He gets paid to do that job. If the others arent doing it then its up to Johnson to manage them.

If it isn't in them he can't do a lot about it can he ? If we had a quality all round striker - we wouldn't have him for long mate.

but think of the backlash, if we don't sign a striker, then ,we miss out on promotion, the flak Lansdown and

Johnson would get!
