We were going to try and get it going at Gillingham.

Or Not - don't think i heard it at gillingham was really looking froward to singing to it, it got into my head all week. Carlisle seems a good place to get it going with unreserved seating and a roof over our heads.

All together now - I WANNA GO HOME, I WANNA GO HOOOOOMMMMMMMEEEEEEE, This is the worst trip ive ever been on DE DO DO DE DO DO DE DO DO ............

Not sure what the MRE is maybe it is the the stand they are in because they say they cant hear the main stand so should call in the MRE. just a guess

here u go mate

Hoist up the RED flag still!

Cant hear the (team were playing) sing,

Call in the reds!!,

we'll sing on our own,

don't wanna go home

don't wanna go hommmmeeee

Is this the best trip Ive ever been on??

I wreckon this would be a good change as not all teams fit the tune

Hoist up the red flag still

Cant hear the HOME FANS sing

Call in the Reds

well sing on our own

I wanna go home

I wanna go hoooommmmmmeeeeee

This is the worst trip ive ever been on

They also sing it at home so was thinking of some words for us (east end)

Hoist up the red flag still

cant hear the DOLMAN sing

Call in the east enders <------- instead of MRE it fits i think if sung in same way as fc utd!

well sing on our own

don't wanna go home

don't wanna go hommmeee

this is the best trip ive ever been on.

Here's verse 2 for you, I haven't tried songwriting before, shows doesn't it!

Hoist up the red flag still

Cant hear the Williams sing

Call in the Eastenders,

We'll sing on our own.

Don't wanna stay down

Don't wanna stay downnnnn

This is the best stand I've ever been in! (Or 'this is our best chance of going up')

Or Not - don't think i heard it at gillingham

Presumably due to it being an away anthem I'm guessing ;)

Here be the original btw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MWXN0UE5Xas

I've been thinking it would've made a decent enough Open The East Eng Campaign song myself:

Been all round Ashton have we,

The Dolman G Block and B,

All over Ashton Gate - we have roamed

It's all been quite shite, no noise even slight

Well I feel so broken, I wanna go home....

So open the East End Steve!

make Keith and Colin see

come on there StevieL - lead the Red Army home

I want to go home, why won't you let me go home?

Well I feel so broken, I wanna to go home

EAST EAST EASTENDERS !!

While I've been Beach Boys indulgent I thought I'd have a little tinker with these words for the Rotherham game:

Do It Again! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5EOWUw6Gyk

It's May the 5th when I

Talk with old friends

The conversation turns to

Players we knew when their

skill was good and the goals they were great

- the East End was the place to go !!

With Dziekanowski, Gow

Gary Shelton and

Jimmy Mann and

Ooh Shaun Taylor and

Gerry Sweeny and

Brian Tin-n-ion....

Cole, Llewelyn,

Goat, Taylor and Gerry Sweeny

Murray, Merrick, and Paul Cheesly....

Well I've been thinking 'bout

All the places we've drunk and sung at

All the faces we've missed so let's get

- back-in-the East End and do it again !!!

errr, yeah :blink::blush:

Here's an adapted alternative tribute to Bradley Orr, quite endearing I think ....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9-JoTlHn9E...ted&search=

Super Bradley, super Orr

When I think of all you've done

We all love you

Super Bradley Orr!

I have watched you on the right

Think you're ##### dynamite

Super Bradley - Super Bradley Orr!

We could leave League 1 together

and our love would grow

In the Championship we would follow - everywhere you go!

So I say from me to you

will you make our dreams come true?

We all love you - super Brad-ley orr!!

Don't blame me blame Brian Wilson !!

:blush::blush::blush:

Gillingham was an away trip!!! i meant hear our fans singing it!!

Ah, sorry man.

Tbf, City's vocal support at Gillingham was shocking. Being sat in an open end in the scorching sun just chilled people out to much I think, people not even mustering up the effort to boo the players off after a defeat said it all.

Also, as much as I love the enthusiasm City fans don't adapt to new songs particularly well, especially complicated ones. Plus I'd like to see more originality in our thinking not simply knicking Kent Pikey and Northern ManUre sulker songs and simply altering the words.

ps/Did you like my Bradley Orr effort or think it was really quite shit? (Would help if The Beach Boys were currently dominating the Popular Charts I think)

Loves Bradley I does.

No worries, yea the support was very quiet, always look forward to away games because of the normal top notch support but it was bad at gills, i don't blame the fans though, wats the point in singing when you cant be heard by the people in the row in front of you, WHEN we go up better facilities (A ROOF!!) every week i cant wait!!

Yes i have noticed this aswell if its not a well known song when a group start to sing it they are looked at as if they are crazy then someone will shut them up with the traditional COME ON YOU REDS which others know and join in with!!!

Not bad mate i would never be able to make something up like that so fair play to you!! Must give it a go but then you will be stared at strangely!!

I see the confusion now, it's a Gills song too. I could've sworn we once had one of the pikey's on the Sub showing a video of them singing it at AG - I can't find it now though.

No worries, i do remember that as well now, when they came down for the fa cup game i think it was.

Guest North Street

Sloop J B was sung by City fans in the past only the line "I feel so broke up" was changed to "I feel so pissed up".This was most certainly heard through the streets of Cheltenham sung by a very large group of Gents after the 3-2 win and sober they were not.

Its doing my head in. I think it was Almondsbury Red, he/she posted words to make it a city song and i cant remember what they were. We were going to try and get it going at Gillingham. It goes like this if it helps:

Have you heard the Everton/Tranmere version about Steve Gerrard to this tune???

Gerrard's Mrs is pregnant and it's rumoured she got up the duff by a local club bouncer so they sing...

"Oh Stevie Gerrard,

The baby's not your...or....ors,

Oh Stevie Gerrard,

The baby's not yours!"

There's a second verse but I can't remember the words to it!

Well that's encouragement enough for me :D . I would though change that ''we all love you'' line (as it sounds gay) simply with ''Super Bradley''.

Anyway, give us an inch - I'll take a mile :innocent06: so I've now decided to desecrate this little beauty from Sir Ray Davies: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sixTGPbgj4Q...ted&search=

South of the river

down in Bedminster

on a cold Tuesday night

Thousands of people

swarming like flies the

floodlights are shining bright

But I don't

feel afraid

'cos stood on the East End

watching the Redmen

I am in paradise

Everyday I look at my life and think ''oh no'',

But City City is the Party time

Ashton Gate Stadium's mine

Hmmm. Not sure about the last bit there.

btw, as North Street was describing, probably the most affective way to have new songs implimted is through 30 odd gert hairy pissed up blokes balling their heads off I think.

Dunno what the 2nd verse to that tune is but apparently they also sung:

"What's that comming over your girl

Is it a gagster? Is it a gangster?"

Wouldn't want to be on the front row singing that... :sofa:
