Oh crap - Basso out injured!!!!!! This could be a nightmare, Basso has the hands of God and has been a revelation with some of his world class saves this season.

Lets hope this Ruddy is a bloody good goalkeeper, and this injury doesn't ruin our chances!

He seems ok...

Oh hell, this keeps getting worse, so he is not the keeper who kept 8 clean sheets - however he did once keep a clean sheet against blackburn, though the everton website does not make it clear when this was. Still, if he was a match for the shooting prowess of Gamst Pederson, then he must be ok!

Whats the panic? with our defence keeping alot of teams restricted to long range efforts we should still be confident.

Lets not crucify this guy before he plays for us, whatever he does will be under scrutiny.

As Basso will be thinking "BELIEVE" so lets do just that.

PS fingers crossed

last season..

Ruddy completed his move to Everton in May 2005, signing a four-year contract with the Blues, and went on to play a combination of Under-18 Academy and Reserves football, interspersed with various loan spells leading up to his most unexpected senior debut as a substitute at Goodison Park against Blackburn. It was only Iain Turner's second game in goal, and his league debut, when he was cruelly exposed in a misunderstanding with Stubbs that led to him handling the ball outside the area, and a red card after just 8 minutes.

Up stepped John Ruddy for his League debut (the second for an Everton goalkeeper in the same game!) and the lad did very well to keep a clean sheet, securing an Everton win with 10 men. But it wasn't good enough for David Moyes to trust the lad all by himself at the next game while Turner was suspended, so in came Sander Westerveld on temporary loan from Portsmouth. In September 2006, he went off for a month's loan with Stockport County.
