Carlisle Fans !

Lincoln City

The memory of the season will be all the Carlisle fans in the main stand applauding the City players off the pitch.

Brought a tear to my eye.

What a fantastic weekend socialising with there fans, Lets hope they beat yeovil in the final and we get to go again?

I think they deserved a bit more from the game ,but we just outclassed them, & well done to all city fans who were on top form all weekend, both in and out of the ground.

I agree. The Carlisle fans were really good. I didn't know what to expect. To be honest with a large home and away support in a game that matters it could have been a very different atmosphere. But credit to the Carlisle fans- in the two pubs before hand they were really nice, the numbers of home fans that stayed to applaud our boys off the pitch was surprising and very good of them- and after the game too it was really nice to chat to the home fans.

A credit to their club and I hope that they make the play-offs.

Met several on Friday and Saturday morning. Great football fans and nice people.

The sort of fans that deserve success themselves.

Good luck Carlisle. Hope you make the play-offs!

Top set of fans, both yesterday and in Cardiff at the LDV final a few years ago.

Hope they somehow make the play-offs, a far preferable side to Swansea, Forest etc. Could be a very big club with some investment, their catchment area is massive, and their fans deserve some success.

Also had a fair few applauding the fans around me on their way out of the ground. fair play. Good banter during the game then good respect between both sets of fans after the game.

Thats the first time in a long time I actually witnessed a City side applauded off by the oposing fans. We've done several times, but never seen it on the travels. Fair play to them.

MM

We certainly got that kind of respect at the Ricoh this season, the Cov fans that were still there at the end were very generous.

Spot on. I thought it was very generous of the Carlisle fans to clap us off when the game had such implications for their own lads. As said already, fans like that deserve success of their own and I honestly hope they make it either this season or next.

I remember many years ago Sheffield Utd fans applauding our team off the pitch after we had beaten them at their place in the play-offs and sent them down a division. Again, despite their own suffering they showed class in defeat, and since then I've always respected them for it, and to this day I hope they survive in the Premiership.

I'm sure the Millwall fans will be just as friendly. From what I hear, many of them actually come to meet us at the station, which sounds like a nice touch.
