How about "The Most Under-Achieving Professional Footballer in the Most Under-Achieving Professional Football Club"? Do we really want as our next manager someone who has made a career of being content playing in the lower divisions of the league, when his undoubted talent would suggest that he should have graced the Premiership during his prime, and should never have played below Divison One level, until the last couple of years when age has caught up with him. Yes, he does seem a nice bloke - we all know about nice blokes being football managers. But surely we need someone who has drive and ambition, not someone who is "used to" the club constantly failing to live up to its potential. If at the end of the season we don't get up, then we have to say bye bye to DW. But has to be someone who can shake this club up, not someone who has been part of the mediocrocy we have endured. Bow_Legged_Chicken Posted March 24, 2004 Report Share Posted March 24, 2004 Yes because all that underachiveing with a club he loves so dearly must be hard for him. he would put 110% into it and be more determined than anyone on this planet to do well for city. Saying that he would have to be a number 2 first to get first hand knowledge of management and some experience.
