However without a decent Right back in Gary Neviles absence I'd go with playing 3 center backs. In the absence of fullbakcs Carrick and King can do a great job as defensive midfielders, Carrick having the ability to create also negates the defensive penalty of having two such midielders.The other 3 midfielders, becks Gerrard and Cole are easy to pick. Joe Cole is easily Englands best midfielder, with Gerrard always likely to create something.Beckham gives a breath of fresh air with his creative passing.Defoe must start over Owen, who has hardly played this season.
