For those that don't follow wrestling he is a massive star in that industry. Was found dead at the weekend along with his wife and son (7 I think) and its looking like he killed them both before killing himself. Really liked the guy athough must admit I would not think him to do the sort of thing that has been suggested (wide,kid etc) and if so not really any symperthey. His wife was bound at the wrists and feet, while there were no signs of restraint on his son, both died of asphyxiation. It is reported that his wife died on Friday, his son died on Saturday, and Benoit killed himself later Saturday evening or early Sunday morning. Benoit's body was found dead of asphyxiation hanging by the cord of a weight machine in his basement. A bible was also found near her body. The son was found in his bedroom. the wife died on friday apparantly, the son on saturday, and benoit shortly afterwards. All a bit weird really. Wondering what the WWE will do about there 'dead Mr McMahon' storyline as well now. How will they get round that? Act as if it diddnt happen? sephjnr Posted June 26, 2007 Report Share Posted June 26, 2007 don't take drugs kids.Seconded all the way, but just to clarify a point that Benoit, like many in the business, had long-standing painkiller addictions and steroid use due to the pressures of working 300+ days a year for so long- that was his conscious choice, I'm not excusing it - and such abuse, injuries evidently took its toll on his psyche. Not to mention that one of his best friends, the equally great Eddie Guerrero, had died under far more innocent circumstances 18 months previously. BUT the incidents leading up to (and including) the murders are almost completely out of the frigging blue. Few people knew Benoit - the person - or what went on in his mind, much less were in any position to talk to him about it. Ultimately he had to deal with his own issues and somewhere along the line something exploded inside his brain and his poor wife (herself a demi-legend in the business) and child were caught in its path.This isn't the end of the matter either- toxicology won't show anything for a good fortnight or so hence nobody knows if he commited the murders clean-minded or out of his tree. But one of the things to note is that the WWE held a 3-hour Raw last night in tribute to his career before foul play was suspected, and since then to cover his own ass Vince McMahon is now trying to erase all trace of Benoit from the company. Understandable but very harsh, especially to many fans that will both condemn Benoit as a person and remember many great matches he was a key performer in because he never half-assed a damn thing in his career.I'm one of them. He leaves behind another son and daughter aswell. Yeah i think the McMahon story line is now stopped and i wanted to see what came out of that.
