Lots of talk about target men, pacy strikers and has been for a while.

It's an easy thing to say, but British teams normally have a big guy up front and more recently, many teams, us included, have shown that one up top is far from a negative formation if you have creative, attacking players behind them & attacking wide players.

It looks like LT is signing and that will give us three players who, IMHO, can play the loan role AND, as importantly, next to one another if required, ably supported by a choice of wide players with Sproule, Murray & McIndoe looking like first choices.All wide players & as importantly, goal scorers.

Brooker & Showunmi troubled Coventry at The Richo last season, playing as a combination.Brooker looked good next to McGammon & Savage.

That's a terrific option to have, especially when you can also utilise our three smaller and undoubtedly quicker, in the case of JMW & TP, strikers.

Four left footers in McIndoe, Trundle, Showunmi & JMW will add balance.

Looking at the squad, it's difficult to find a formation we couldn't play, but I still think it'll be 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1 againt QPR and a lot could depend on Nobles fitness.It GJ wants to play 4-4-1-1 regularly perhaps he's giving consideration to signing another player to play "in behind" as Noble does as opposed to an out and out striker?

Or could that withdrawn role by played by another squad member like Murray, Jevons or Artus?? I've seen SM play there and he got hurt there playing against the Gas without ever looking as threatening as he does as a wide player.
