RedUn
We need a full house of City fans turning up next Saturday not feeling as though the season has already ended and fully focussed on the task in hand ... that is, to play their part in taking 3pts off Holloway's QPR instead of indulging in AG's favourite sport of self-flagellation. We all know this season hasn't been pretty but isn't it better just to accept that jobs are on the line as the subtext for the next 7, 9 or 10 games and concentrate all available energies towards the next 3pts, then the next and so on? We need the QPR and Plymouth players to feel like they've landed on another planet, we need to play on the disharmonies within the Swindle squad when we go there (King labelled the team unprofessional last week and had a bust up with Mooney on Saturday). What we don't need is to give any of those sides the comfort of seeing we're more intent on washing our own dirty linen in front of them, and that is exactly what the boo boys will do if all the talk in the build-up is on what might have been instead of what we canstill achieve. The approach has to be to play the hand we have been dealt. All the other clubs are in the same position and it isn't like the recent form of too many of them is so special anyway. bobby
Nice one RedUn...... ok our form has been poor but QPR haven't exactly pulled away from us completely, so they are not on a great run of form themselves. It is still in our hands and I believe with the recent boost new signings can give, and with an extra weeks training together, Scott and Tony could well make even more of a difference on Sat - QPR is a must win game and will really kick start our April campaign. We need to make AG intimidating for them, not for our own players and manager. 2nd place is still more than possible and the play offs are a fall back, there'll be many teams in the division wishing they were in our place. Agree with all that. Now tell Wilson to instill it in the players because I don't think he can after the last two tactical failures. Simply put, we can't believe it and neither can the players. The Fans can only do so much and they can't play "for" the players.
Guest Neo
GOOD DARTS as well. I have purposely avoided the forum for most of the weekend because I knew after the COMPLETE OTT EXCITEMENT of Friday there would be the standard responses to a defeat. Saturday was poor; 2nd half was improved. Fans were great. I enjoyed myself thoroughly. Murray suffered under immense expectation; ###### happens
RedUn
Agree with all that. Good-oh, I know you're just a chilled-out entertainer at heart so I look forward to a week of you turning your keyboard skills to making with the positive waves. The time for post mortems is when the body is officially pronounced dead, not while it's still showing vital signs and with a very good chance of recovery. It's about shared belief between fans, players and the Manager. We might not be able to influence the Manager, but we can certainly let the players know that we are fully behind them for the whole 90 minutes. fct
Indeed; the one bright note in al lthis is that QPR aren't setting the world on fire at present. Maybe we can turn them over. Maybe.

That's all well and good but we appear to be suffering from a dibilitating disease going by the name of Wilsonitis. Fortunately there happens to be a fairly simple cure to this which would aid our recovery.
Taz
Simply put, we can't believe it and neither can the players. Wrong. Some people do believe it, and I see no reason why the players also do not believe. So they have had a few extremely poor results/performances, but a lot of that team still have their careers to play for (a few are out of contract at the end of the season). Unless they already have deals lined up, why would they not want to give 110%? Oh yeh, and before anybody says "well perhaps they already do have a new club lined up" don't talk crap. Playing poor and showing that you just simply can't be bothered is not professional. Wouldn't exactly be showing their "future clubs" much would they?
