Well Done And Thanks To Gary Johnson

wanted to post this straight after the game yesterday when we were sitting top of the championship but couldnt due to my crap pc.

anyway, it was a quick well done and thank you to gary johnson who is taking us from strength to strength.

people questioned his ability saying he was way out his league with us and he was nothing more than a conference manager. although we won our first 3 games, we then went on the worse run in our history by losing 9 on the bounce, and after some dodgy loan signings, it was hard for the most loyal supporter to dissagree with the comments about johnson. everyone was also split on the stewart/phillips sago, even in the dressing room. then, with the loan signing with fontaine, johnson got them back on the right path and a strong finish, all city fans were looking forward to the next season with great hope.

then with a few exciting signings in mccombe, jevons, mccallister, enoch, we couldnt wait to get the new season underway. after not such a great start, no one could of seen the challenges ahead for gary. the carey/orr incident on live tv away at northampton, players prisoned for a fight in a nightclub and numerous injuries, it was hard to field a settled team. star striker was to miss a majority of the season. johnson getting flack from all corners for playing his son when he wasnt performing, and orr being attacked by one of his own fans. gary could easily of walked. but he knew he was moving the club in the right direction and two stunning away victories at doncaster and blackpool really had everyone believing that after 9 long years we would finally get out of the 3rd tier in english football. then the magic moment at home to rotherham, winning 3-1 and getting promoted. the pictures at the end of the game spoke a million words.

then the pre-season just passed, with some of the most exciting signings we have had in years. trundle, sproule and elliott the real stand out signings. and who would believe it, an unbeaten start to the season, with the only slight dissapointment being the draw against qpr. a fantastic point at blackpool followed up by wins at home to scunny and away at shef wed we were sitting at the top of the championship. who would of thought that a year ago? and now our next league game is a top of the table clash against coventry. win that and who knows what we will be able to achieve?

so well done gary, taking the club from rock bottom of league 1 to top spot in the championship. you are a true legend now.

He's done well, but he's done what few managers couldn't do and got us out of that shite league. If he done the impossible I would then think he was the greatest thing ever.

I just thought of somthing

Imagine if we got promoted this year, just imagine, Ronaldo v Macallister, Trundle v Carragher, Elliot v essien, Carey v Berbatov

That would be amazing, still, to say its a long way to go would be a slight understatement

Still, Imagine....

:Believe: Always believe :Believe:
