A Horse With No Name
Stevie Brooker was seen at the B.R.I this morning with a member of the coaching staff, so it seems that whatever is wrong with him, he is not close to returning yet. alexrusselsboot
Maybe the member of coaching staff had injured himself and Brooker kindly drove him to BRI?
Davros
Maybe the member of staff got the hump with Brooker and stabed him in the leg?

Tenyards
Maybe Brooker has got a job as a porter to help him keep fit...walking up and down those endless corridors. Apparently Pavrotti is in hospital too. Can't footballers afford to go private these days...we obviously aren't paying them enough.

He was very worried about his knee! Can't see Brooker being the player he was? Nights out boozing, ETC!!!!! Probibly has cought up with him. We should get what money we can for him now, and give the injury problems to another club! IMO.He was probibly seeing Johnathon Webb (Surgeon) at the BRI instead of Bupa (Glen) as Johnathon Webb had appointments at BRI.If this is the case! It dos'nt sound good, if he had to see the Surgeon quickly, instead of waiting for an appointment at the Bupa (Glen) !!!!!!!!!!! To many injuries now! Gone on to long!!!! icamanicity
I think the end of his career is near, was`nt byfield wearing the number 9 shirt, in the recent reserve game at cardiff, ominous signs, methinks...
westonred
I think the end of his career is near, was`nt byfield wearing the number 9 shirt, in the recent reserve game at cardiff, ominous signs, methinks...The Guy who sits in front of me spoke to Steve Brooker for a couple of minutes in the Williams Stand before the Man City game. He told me that Brooks said to him he was nowhere near fit and has to have another operation. When he asked him if he thought he would be fit this season Brooker replied i doubt it. Gazred
So this "Major Announcment" today.....Brooker to hang up his boots? Surely not but there is massive cause for concern here i feel, not a lot of info coming our way from the club, fair enough they may not know all the details yet themselves, but i really do think that there is more going on than is being made out. Byfield has been given the number 34 shirt.
bringbacktherobin
I think we will be lucky to see brooker play at all this season, hes turning into a lee matthews.

Belfastcityfan
Brooker lives at the BRI now as it is easier than having to keep transporting him to and from the ground
Jody Mortimer
maybe Stevie B was only having scan to see if all is ok.surley the club would have said something by now if it was to be the end of his career or would not be back any time soon
rumbellow
Probably an extra on bbc's Casualty as 'the man on the treatment table', apparently his performance 'was so life like', up for a bafta
samo
Will be interesting if he is passed fit soon. With Byfield, Trundle, Jevons, Enoch and Plummer all fit and looking or a place you'd have to say he'd have a hell of a task getting into the starting lineup/match day squad. i'd have thought a spell out on loan would be ideal if it wasn't for the fact he might break down injured again... Gerry Gows' Tash
It's unlikely he was getting treatment - players all get private treatment

Dollymarie
As someone has already said the specialist he sees might have been at the BRI that day so could only see him there, or maybe he needed a scan and the better machine is at the BRI, could be a million things really. IMO, a bit risky him being seen going into the BRI or ANY hospital, exactly for the sort of rumours it would start...here is a guy who needs positive reports about his fitness, not negativities , which this thread seems to indicate. A lot of the players attend the BRI for a vareity of different scans. Kieron Dyer was treated there the other week. Also I don't believe that Jonathon Webb does any work at the BRI. Jody Mortimer
just had a though maybe he was there for some charity reason footy players are always visiting kids in hospital why not SB doing the same
brisbanecity
It sounds to me like someone is just talking b$%ls^#t and starting rumours."Stevie Brooker was seen at the B.R.I this morning with a member of the coaching staff"......by who?A load of crap.I tend to think that something would be announced if he wasn't at least on course for a recovery. BristolCity1992
The only reason there is any speculation is because the club have not said anything on SB for some time.

Sometimes it just isn't possible. I've got BUPA cover & recently had heart surgery. The only place equipped in Bristol to perform the op was the scabby old BRI. I went to Oxford.
