boadle
Settle a bet.Watching Ireland get beat by France in the Rugby, I mentioned to my friends that it might be a good idea if they brought in the "dissent a free-kick and the referee can push it back another ten yards" rule. My friends, slighty unsure, said they think that it was in force in the Premiership, but hardly ever enforced. I said this was unlikely, as UEFA always bring in rules worldwide, not limited to one tier. Can any practicing match officials advise?

next_year_I_hope
it was scrapped because the non rugby playing nations couldnt get their head around the ruling!
Geoff65
Some of the attacking teams said that by moving the ball 10 yards closer, they were at a disadvantage as they couldnt get the ball up and over the wall and down again...A simple change to the rules stating upto 10 yards at the discretion of the attacking side would have done the trick. Was in force but not any longer - see above. Dan Of The Dolman
Might deter some of the players from abusing refs.
