fat tony
one of the worst days in football history without a doubt, and with the tv coverage we all saw graphically the horror, the issue with politics and law just stink of a huge cover up of one mans panic and pre judgment of what was going on. What did we learn from it? well i caan remember a couple of weeks later we were playing baadiff and they escaped the old open end into the dolmon and were trying to throw city fans over the wall, so on that day the idiots had learnt nothing, but it has made grounds safer all be it at the expense of atmosphere. Have the police learnt anything ? god knows we still get treated like cattle at some away grounds were still labeld thugs for singing too loud or standing up. So i still don't know if they have learned. But please lets never have another day like that one!

Cider Visor
I hear that when Liverpool build there new ground there will be 96 numbered seats that will be left constantly unoccupied. Not going to bring the justice that is required but another tribute to the fans.

OC 1645
JUSTICE FOR THE 96 I don't see why the Police should escape prosecution for their criminal negligence during the Hillsborough disaster. Also, why haven't the Crown Prosecution Service lawyer scummers brought charges against the Police when there is so much evidence to convict the Police for their part in this tragedy ?????!!!!!!!!JUSTICE FOR THE 96 http://www.lfchistory.net/kopites_articles...?article_Id=

OC 1645
try this version http://www.contrast.org/hillsborough/history/index.shtmPewsham, thank you very much for that link. The opening text of that website is very poignant and reflects the utter contempt that the Police and Government have for us as football supporters.......The Hillsborough Football DisasterThe history of Hillsborough begins with the deaths of 96 people and the physical and mental injury of countless others. However it does not end there. The enormity of the Disaster goes beyond even this.Hillsborough becomes a metaphor for British society today. It is a microcosm of how society operates. Viewed in this way the history of Hillsborough becomes the history of injustice, of cover-up, and collusion.History will record 'Hillsborough' firmly within the bounds of civil rights, and the bereaved and survivors of the Disaster will long be remembered for the heroic stances they took against the might of bureaucratic forces in the name of justice.
