They are:Jamie McCallister - 8thMichael McIndoe - 25thLiam Fontaine - 35thLee Trundle - 48thBradley Orr - 51stScott Murray - 85thLee Johnson - 100th.Not bad going for some of the players who are supposed to be having poor seasons so far! Riaz
The defence and McCallister in particilular have been poor in the last two games, compared to the rest of the season.
Godzilla
Interesting stats, but for me Carey has been our player of the season so far. He's been immense and a real leader as captain. Against Burnley, his drive and determination to make something happen even from centre half was one of the reasons we managed to get back into the game having played so poorly. Riaz
Those things are shite. You really think McAllister has been playing better then Carey, Fontaine, McIndoe, Elliot, Basso?Your probabaly right, but I think it shows he's under-rated. Before the West Brom game he hadnt had a bad game.
scumbag
WHAT IS ACTIM.........What kind of stats are produced? Actim Stats are a collection of team, player and match statistics. They are derived from all the actions that take place during a match, including goals, shots on target, corners, assists, clean sheets, fouls, offsides, passes, tackles, blocks and clearances. The raw data can be used to generate a wide range of tables and statistics such as player profiles, team and player head to heads and form guides. Who produces Actim Stats? Actim Stats are produced by PA Sport, a division of the PA Group, on behalf of Football DataCo. How are Actim Stats collected? PA Sport gathers match data for every Barclays Premier League and Coca-Cola Championship game. The data is gathered by two methods - real-time match analysis and the study of video footage. The real-time analysis is conducted by ex-professional footballers who report on action at the grounds as it happens. Further, more detailed analysis is obtained by studying videos of the matches. perhaps, just perhaps, these stats are actually correct and technically he has been the best player so far this season
Alex_BCFC
Anyone who has been to the games will know Jamie has bene poor so far this season and although I thought he was much improved on Saturday, you can't rely on those things at all... Tunley Legend
Statistics are a pile of old b0ll0ck$ unless you can put them into context. A centre half can win every header he jumps for but if the headers fail to clear the ball properly and go five yards straight to an opposition player who gets a shot in on goal then what has that statistic achieved? It is OK to say a player has made 150 consecutive passes without giving the ball away directly but if none of those passes has created anything or if many of the passes have put other players in trouble causing them to give the ball away instead then the stats don't mean diddly squat.Do the statistics differentiate between a good header, an effective pass, an important tackle and do the statistics recognise a lot of the "unseen" work that many players undertake (such as Wilson and McIndoe working their nuts off to help the full backs when required)? My guess is no. I bet they also fail to recognise the important communication that is made on the pitch - a simple shout from one player (who according to the stats may be playing poorly) to another can either create a goal or stop a goal being scored against.Like I said, you need to put statistics into context. That is why football is interesting - because we can all watch the same game and get a totally different feel for what happened based on intuition and incidents we have seen that others may have missed, not by using stats.
