Indeed he is.

I had a fascinating chat with Ivan over the Northern Irish situation, he almost retired from international football as he was permanently overlooked for a starting position. Apparently it was pretty big news in Northern Ireland!

However, now Gillespie is injured, if Worthington wants to attack Ivan will play. He is flying back into Heathrow on Thursday night and meeting up with the squad who are travelling up that day.

He also talked about his performance, said he was very frustrated that he hasn't shown us his best, he said he's never been a striker and doesn't wanna play there, but he'll do anything for the team because the togetherness is immense! Said it was a complete surprise that GJ gave them some time off...but they loved it!! Tried to get some tickets to Sweden...but none spare! :dunno:

Always a double edged sword.

If he does well, it's great for his confidence and after missing the start of the season he needs the games in his correct position.

At least we've got decent cover on the right flank if he does get injured and it's probably a toss up between him and Wilson at Norwich in any event.

It's rare for a player in his position to get injuries from playing, they're normally muscule or hamstring based. Just take Manure's Ronaldo for example. That said, every training session or game carries a risk.

I disagree that wilson will replace sproule. With noble in the side, pace is essential on the flanks, otherwise we a 'one paced'. Therefore, Murray in for Sproule would be more likely.

Sproule

Hopefully he doesnt pick up an injury!

The match is played at Råsunda in Stockholm. Would have been nice to turn up at the trainingground today with at "Number one is Ivan Sproule" streamer but it wasen't to be. Can't go to the match so no Ivan banderoles there either. Not in the Swedish stands at least. Should have be nice to welcome "one of ours" at the ground but to many commitments this weak.. If not.. We will see. Will probably have trouble with Swedish fans and wife though. :chant6ez:

Apologies if this is common knowledge already

It was big news over here, it was surreal to hear Bristol City mentioned so many times on the local TV and Radio stations! He has only got his chance now because of injuries, but he could now stake a claim in the side. For those who have Sky, you can get the local BBC1 NI channel, and tune in to see how he gets on as the England are kicking off early.
