although we all dream, the reality still for this year is Staying in this Division.

since 2000 the following points total has kept teams up ..

2000 : 49 points

2001 : 49 points

2002 : 47 points

2003 : 51 points

2004 : 50 points

2005 : 43 points

2006 : 46 points

(2006 doesn't allow for the 10 points the table shows Leeds were deducted.)

so ......... i think 50 POINTS is our target ......... thats not looking a problem at present, but you never know ......... although 1 point a game from our remaining games will get us there comfortably.

i honestly expect us to finish with around 70 points, which would be a stunning achievement for our first season back ......

but ......... the play offs ............. we can still dream

Good reading. We are currently going at 2 points a game. And, whilst people say that 2 poitns a game is promotion form, i think everyone knows we probably arent going to keep it up. But i agree that 70 points is a realistic target and that is the average points total for a play off push. Perhaps might need a few more points to sneak in, but no more than 10. Its a good time to be a City fan.

the following number of points would have got you 6th place

2006 : 75 points

2005 : 68 points

2004 : 71 points

2003 : 72 points

2002 : 71 points

2001 : 75 points

2000 : 73 points

so if we have sixty odd points with 3 or 4 games left .......... you never know

As I said elsewhere, 40 is a good halfway total, and we're well on course for that (14 pts from 10 games). We could then be less effective in the 2nd half of the season and still make the play-offs!
