Been Talking To The Boss Of

Never to the dark side

Recommended Posts

I attended a talk about television by Sir Michael Lyons(BBC trust chairman)

in london on thursday night

talk started approx 6:30pm and i have never been greeted by

my lords, ladies and gentleman.

No mention of football fans

Talk last approx 45 minutes then it was question and answer session

Sorry can't go all that was and not ask a quesion

So I said can I say big thank you to BBC radio five LIVE extra for covering

the championship matches and for last previous saturdays covering of our

match against stoke

I also asked could he try and do something about the non full commentary of the

3pm home kick offs of the Bristol side

He said he would come back to me at a later date

The second in command of the BBC(Mark byford) was thier so I went over and thanked him for the stoke city commentary and the live coverage of the championship

He said he lived in Bristol at one time in Ambrose road in clifton wood,

funny I use to live there when a young'un

Okay what is this leading up to?

I checked radio five lives coverage of games in week commencing 5th november

and it stated they would be covering a champions league match

So I am pleased that five live EXTRA are covering the match live

so can I please ask you write to five live EXTRA saying thank you

for covering bristol city matches and also e-mail the commentators

saying thank you for covering Bristol City matches

Remember this could effect ALL city fans especially the ones on holiday

and the ex-pats who live in europe

who could hear Bristol City via the Sky digi box

lets not be naive about this, the reason Cirty are getting coverage on national radio has everything to do with with us being the 'surprise package' of the season thus far which makes us an interesting team to report on.

I'm not going to write to anyone to thank them for reporting on the 2nd placed team in the championship.

people who have been on holiday have chosen not to be at Ashton Gate as have those who have decided to move abroad.

I can only imagine that these people have paid for world if they are that interested anyway.

Okay, lets look at City world, how many times have we seen failed connection comments etc

I have seen ALL of Citys league matches this season home and away

Holidays, I normally have a week in Spain in jan/feb do I not come into the equation

of wanting(and thanking the BBC/ITV/sky etc) for giving us extra coverage whilst on holiday?

ex-pats refers to those away from Bristol and i the U.K. more than those who live now in Europe

Finally please consider those LESS fortunate than your self who maybe living in Bristol

Who maybe short of funds

minor domestic commitment(baby sitter not turning up)

at work/college/school or driving for a living

hospitalised, confined to bed at home with an illness

some one who suffers a visual impairment

or may have mobilty difficulties

Never assume every one is fit and active and has plenty of money

One reason that this match is on Five Live Sports Extra is that the producer tonight is a Charlton fan. We were both hoping to get to the gate for this one but we're working.

I'm off for a drink with him at fulltime so don't expect a lot of post match summing up from Leroy! :drunk2:
