17 yr old Ribeiro gained his first U21 Welsh cap on Saturday playing at centrehalf against Bosnia. After a balanced first half Wales eventually ran out 4 - o winners.

He is back in the squad against France for Tuesday night. Will be a a very tough challenge with France being such a strong side.

Not sure if being on international duty will harm his chances of being considered for the Leicester game? Still the lad is obviously making good progress and is one for the future for City.

I think the Welsh under-21 game is live on sky sports tomorrow night. might be wrong though.

Must be a decent prospect for the future if hes earning u21 caps even before he has made his first team debut.

or tells you something about the depth, or lack of, in wales u21s. No disrespect to the young man intended in fact i read that many at the club consider him "most likely" to make the step up from the academy.

I know which one i'd rather watch atm

Ribeiro with have a tougher test on wednesday if he plays than he will against leicster if he plays.

Leicester if he plays.

After playing so well against against top French internationals, who play in the French 1st division. It was disappointing to see that he was not even considered good enough to be on the bench for City for the Leicester game. Assume this highlights the quality of our squad when compared with lowly Leicester who chose to play 7 players under 22.

Just goes to show how difficult it is for any youngster to get an opportunity at City. 21 / 22 appears to be the lower age limit where the club gains the confidence to play the younger players. Seems that when opportunities arise in the squad for the younger, in form, players to be involved, the club prefers to resuffle the squad and play more senior players in unfamilar positions. This is not a new trate but also happened a number of times last year where Frankie and James Wilson missed out. Obviously shows a lack of confidence in the ability of the youngsters to be able to step up to the mark.

Continuing to play well and having extreme patience must be the key for the younger squad members.

Not meant to be a moan but an observation that the club made want to consider. If we want to build our own players from the academy system and hence create value through future sales or avoided purchases we need to change our approach in this area
