Big Red Rich
Our squad has cost us near enough £1.75m to assemble I think with the large chunk of that going on Mr Trundle. Otherwise the rest of our team has pretty much been patched together and is now running like a well oiled machine. But, is our squad worth much in bits? This is the way I value our team, and when I mean value its what I expect another side to bid to secure the services:Adriano Basso = £500kChris Weale = £100kBradley Orr = £300kLouis Carey = £100kLiam Fontaine = £400kJamie MCombe = £200kJamie McCallister = £400kBrian Wilson = £150kRichard Keogh = £100kMichael Mcindoe = £500kIvan Sproule = £300kMarv Elliot = £2.5mLee Johnson = £400kScott Murray = £nominalDavid Noble = £500kCole Skuse = £400kLee Trundle = £500kDarren Byfield = £150kEnoch Showunmi = £100kSteve Brooker = £200kPhil Jevons = £50kNow obviously everyone is going to have their own opinon. So have I grossly over valued our squad? Are there any fees there that you would gladly bite a clubs hand off for? I think I value our side totally at about £5m - does this sound unrealistic? I'd be interested to hear your thoughts and also what you value the team at.Cheers,Rich.
BCFC_Dan
I think you may have undervalued Carey somewhat. I know he's getting on a bit now but anyone getting him for just £100k would be getting one of the bargains of the season.
Henry
I think there is a difference between what a club is willing to pay and the true value of player. For example, could you see us letting Fontaine go for 400k and someone paying use 300k for Orr? cidercity1987
It depends on a lot of things, like when a players contract runs out. We're in a league where players have been going to £9m, so I think Elliot is easily worth the £2.5m you suggest. If we wanted to sell Trundle I expect we'd be able to recuperate almost £1m. The likes of Noble, Skuse, Sproule, McIndoe, Fontaine may also be worth something near £1m too.

Big Red Rich
You are right, it depends on the buying and selling clubs agreeing but i didnt want to make it too complicated. i think you get the picture - we probably wouldnt sell the likes of Carey etc but they must have a value - surely thats what they are insured against?? Just trying to have a light hearted discussion rather than a full blown finanical breakdown!!!
Guest zider_head
I think in todays market at the relative ages I would expect the following :-Adriano Basso = £800kChris Weale = £100kBradley Orr = £500kLouis Carey = £500kLiam Fontaine = £750kJamie MCombe = £500kJamie McCallister = £500kBrian Wilson = £250kRichard Keogh = Nominal due to contractMichael Mcindoe = £750kIvan Sproule = £750kMarv Elliot = £2mLee Johnson = £500kScott Murray = £100kDavid Noble = £750kCole Skuse = £750kLee Trundle = £1mDarren Byfield = £250kEnoch Showunmi = £100kSteve Brooker = £500k (needs to get fit aint worth a penny at present)Phil Jevons = £100kI think Jevons, Keogh and Betsy will all go in the Jan / Summer, as will RussellBe intresting to see what comes of Plummer, Riberio, Wilson etc
Rob k
Noble is not worth 500k even when fit. 200k max.
Guest zider_head
Noble preety much got us over the line last year in todays market he is worth 750 k at least, he is only young remember
Geoff65
Byfield only got a contract until end of this season - his value is like Keogh's.
Nibor
Our squad is worth £3.178m and half a Mars bar.More seriously I think only players still well before their peak and coping well with Championship football or those who are already proven at this level and not yet considered a "veteran" would attract cash offers. That means Fontaine, Elliott, and McIndoe really. Possibly promising youngsters like Skuse, Ribeiro, Plummer, Wilson and Artus might attract some interest but they would need to play some games first. Tunley Legend
This is what I think clubs would be prepared to pay for our players, given their abilities, fitness and contract situations:-Adriano Basso = £400kChris Weale = NIL (due to appalling recent injury record)Bradley Orr = £250kLouis Carey = NIL (due to age)Liam Fontaine = £400kJamie MCombe = £200kJamie McCallister = £200kBrian Wilson = £150kRichard Keogh = £50k (if we're lucky)Michael Mcindoe = £400kIvan Sproule = £400kMarv Elliot = £750k (he's not played enough good games YET to warrant a seven figure fee)Lee Johnson = £250kScott Murray = £NIL (age)David Noble = £300kCole Skuse = £250kLee Trundle = £400kDarren Byfield = £150kEnoch Showunmi = £150kSteve Brooker = £100k (due to recent injury record)Phil Jevons = £50-100kI am sure that with increased fitness, some of the players will be looking at higher values as the season progresses. But the fees really reinforce the view that we are a team where the sum of the whole is a lot greater than the individual parts.
Rob k
Noble preety much got us over the line last year in todays market he is worth 750 k at least, he is only young rememberNow don get me wrong i like Noble but he cant stay fit for any decent amount of time. He has done ok but i think Lee Trundle would be much more effective in his posistion and am very surprised he has not been played there yet.
