Dollymarie Posted January 2, 2008 Report Share Posted January 2, 2008 10,000 Austrian football fans have signed a petition asking for their team to be pulled out of Euro 2008 because they say they are not good enough.They qualified automatically because they are co-hosting the European championships, but their fans are saying they are they worst national team ever.They have played only 18 matches since 2006, against opponents including Liechtenstein (Austria won in injury time after trailing), Trinidad & Tobago (most of whose 2006 World Cup players refused to play due to a bonus dispute), Switzerland (who have since beaten Austria) and Ivory Coast (who were reduced to 10 men at 1-1).The fans apparently don't want to be embarassed, and they want the team withdrawn before the tournament even begins.http://sport.independent.co.uk/football/eu...icle3166373.ece Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
