How Do We Overcome Players Fitness

So as the question says how do our players like Murray, Brooker, Skuse and others get match fit when so many reserve fixtures are so far apart OR called off due to the weather? What is the solution behind closed doors matches? How do other clubs manage with this situation? I only ask this question as players like Murray (who came on Saturday) looked like they hadnt played football for ages simply because they probably hadnt played a competative match for weeks! Do how do we as a club overcome this?
