Komazawa
Just checking out the stats for the season and saw Earnshaw has only started twice this season at Derby. They've just signed a new striker from Mexico. The guy is a goal machine at Championship level - any chance of getting him in on an extended loan? Don't like the guy, but surely would be worth an enquiry?

Komazawa
yeah obviously it'd have to be a loan deal. can't see why not tbh. he didnt even make the derby bench against wigan yesterday.scored 19 goals for norwich last season, despite being out for 3 months
robins72
Cant see it being a problem. Earnshaw isnt rated highly by Derby fans and I cant see him getting in the first team for a while. Although I don't know if hes the answer. Hes definitely a poacher though.
bcfcchris2016
this was a guy i hated with a passion many many years ago for obvious reasons. never forget when cardiff drew to us in semi final 2nd leg, and earnshaw milking the fact they be in final by doing somersaults in front of Cardiff fans in east end.but then again, I don't want to think about our past struggleing in 3rd tier (and atm that ain't hard), the only thing i'm looking to is the future for our club and i believe Earnshaw would be a top draw signing for the 2nd half of the season but i would regret to say it would have to be a loan deal, and if he gets us goals, he will be forgiven for being a big success at Cardiff, wish i could say the same about Trundle at Swansea get Earnshaw in GJ

Nibor
Good shout and another player I'd like to see is Dave Cotterill as a central striker IF we're going 4-4-2.Cotterill is unproven as a striker - why?I'd be interested to see the stats.Earnshaw's stats in the Championship - league only:Club - Appearances(subs) goalsNorwich - 41 (4) 27 Cardiff - 48(2) 22Goals per start - 0.55 (better than 2 goals per game)In the Prem:Derby - 2 (10) 0West Brom - 22 (21) 12Goals per start: 0.5Seems to indicate he's a top goalscorer at any level. However, he's hardly going to want to go on loan to us when he has the opportunity to impress Paul Jewell and win a starting place particularly for next season is he? They may have signed a striker but they sold Howard and Derby don't exactly have loads of them.

Note in bold, his record at West Brom when they were in the Premiership. Shows he`s capable of scoring goals at the highest level. And that`s even though Bryan Robson wasn`t picking him regularly. His reason was because he needed to develop his game more than just being a goalscorer. But surely the first job of any striker is to score goals. Anyway, he`d be a great signing for us. Loan or permanantly.

Taz
I'd welcome Earnshaw or Roberts with open arms. Both have proven they can cut it at this level and the next, which is what we'd need IF we did manage to get that far.....I doubt either will happen though as I can't see us spending that sort of money to get them here. Then again I said the same about Trundle and I'd take them over him any day.

Nibor
Looks as if Earnshaw will drop to a championship club if it means getting regular games ;http://msnsport.skysports.com/story/0,1952...3050349,00.htmlI'm quite surprised by that. You have to wonder why he doesn't seem to have got a chance from Jewell yet, they're not exactly scoring for fun.I suspect he's talking about dropping down "on loan as long as it costs me nowt".Worth a look though given what he's said there. samo
How much do Derby want - £1.5 to £2 million? My friend (who works for a lawyer, all you 'sauce' addicts) told me they were looking to get a significant amount of their investment back, which considering Earnshaw cost £3.5 Million (not fully paid I understand) would make you think nearer £2-2.5 Million, although he didn't say an exact figure. I can only imagine the reason cardiff were laughed off was their lack of funds or unwillingness to pay a fee, which (from my understanding) Ipswich are not adverse to doing. Percy Parrot
Where did you hear that?Could well believe it. Ipswich have recently been taken over by the guy who owns the company I work for. Lots of money has been up in to them. I believe it was roughly £32m of debt written off and £12m of first team investment according to the press.I would be delighted if he signed- he has a great scoring record. Chessels Chick
personally ive never really rated earnshaw all that much. the first thing that comes to mind when he comes up is cardiff.that for a start wouldnt go down well, and as much i can remember, everytime we played um i thought danny coles had him in his pocket. no threat, out of the game.obviously you cant judge a player over just two games, but as redhyde said, there is no chance of signing him so end of really...First thing that comes to my mind is Gollum! Redhyde
Why not?Because he's1) just moved2) coming back from injury3) likely to be on too much money4) determined to prove himself in the prem5) wanted by his club

tin
Who's the only player to have scored a hat-trick in all four of the English division's, the FA Cup, Carling Cup and at International level? He's never impressed me but for that reason, and that reason alone, he'd be a good signing. I doubt whether we could get him though as GJ himself admitted yesterday that we're 'nowhere near' completing a deal for anyone let alone Earnshaw. easton boy
On Teamtalk, Risdale has said that Derby want a fee(indicating that they would do business), but Cardiff haven't got a cat in hells chance of paying a fee for anyone at the moment. Looks like Earnshaw def. not going to Cardiff.http://www.teamtalk.com/football/story/0,1...3057259,00.html
Redhyde
So, apart from 3), and taking my earlier response (above) into account, there's still a chance.Fair enough, but if Paul Jewell thinks selling off the players who would help him get Derby BACK into the Premiership is a good idea, then well *tries and fails to think of something clever to say* he's an idiot.
