Qpr Pubs Etc

Kingswood Village

Recommended Posts

With the engineering works etc preventing people from using Shepherds Bush tube station on the saturday that we play QPR, does anyone know if it is easy enough to walk from White City to Shepherds Bush area as it seems that this is where most of the pubs etc are. And if so, which pubs are likely to be taken over by city?

Usually the Springbok which is about 5 minutes from the ground

The Springbok is not on "Shepherds Bush green" it is on south Africa road or something like that which is just up from White city tube - true it is only a few minutes from Tube station and Loftus road and will be rammed with city but usually a lot closer to kick off time

Most of the pubs are on the "Green" which is little walk from White city tube but in the opposite direction to Loftus road (past BBC)- so if you go to white city via tube and then walk to the green you have to walk away from ground and back same way later

Don't need to worry about Shepherds Bush tube. Closure only affects Shepherds Bush (Central Line). Shepheards Bush (Hammersmith & City) is still open, which is the line you'd get on direct from Paddington.

The Springbok is on South Africa Rd (I think), right next to the ground. There's quite a few pubs on Uxbridge Rd and Shepherds Bush Green (including O'Neills and Walkabout). Sure they'll all be packed with City if we manage to sell the bottom tier - reckon we need 3 points against Blackpool to help boost sales though!

The O'neils on Shepherds Bush Green is the best bet with the Walkabout next door a close second if O'neils is too full. The other pubs on the green (The Defectors Weld, the aptly named "the Green" etc) are now all designated home pubs with signs in the window stating "Home ends ticket holders, season ticket holders, QPR club members and BBC staff only". Also the pubs up uxbridge road are all home pubs and they usually start filling up with QPR fans from as early as 11am.

The best bet is to get onto the Hammersmith and City line via platform 12 (I think) in Paddington and get off at Shepherds bush 5 stops westbound, cross over the road and follow the path round past Barclays and carry on for about 50 yards past Shepherds Bush Empire where you will hit O'neils on the right for the best pint of guiness in London. Loftus road is about a 10-15 minute walk from here, either down uxbridge road and right just after william hill on the corner or down wood lane (past the bbc) and left down South Africa Road.

Apologies for the long first post but hopefully this will be of help to at least someone and erm :fingerscrossed: ... hi by the way. :englandsmile4wf:

No Hammersmith & City line that weekend, due to engineering works.
